100 Posts of The BookBytess Project

Inspired by Seth’s ‘The Icarus Deception’, the BookBytess project’s description went through an overhaul in my head. It now reads..

The BookBytess Project is a community art project.

Our art? Sharing our learnings from books we read every day. Sharing is true learning after all and this is our attempt at getting better while making a difference in this world, one book byte at a time..

Like the jedi, we would love to welcome those serious minded folk with the deepest commitment to this cause to the BookBytess community.

If that’s you, send us a note on bookbytess@gmail.com

I had my doubts as to whether this one would take off and the early signs are promising. We hit our 100th posts in barely 30 days. There’s about 10 of us who are part of the community now with 4-5 really active (nearly every day posts).

I think it’s helped by the fact that we have a very simple process. If you want to join, all you have to do is send us an email. We share our Tumblr log in and password and you are ready to go!

You will notice I only mention number of posts and don’t mention view counts. We haven’t even set up Google Analytics yet because this project is about the artists i.e. us. It is about learnings that we take away from books. And, therein lies the specialty of the project – we care most  about the artists going through the art process.

In the past 30 days, there have been learnings from a whole host of books – So Good They Can’t Ignore You, The Icarus Deception, Start with Why, Willpower, The Lean Startup, The Price Advantage, Man’s Search for Meaning, Good to Great, Drive, Lincoln, etc. It makes for a really inspiring read. And every once in a while, the post really hits home. Like this one from “decembermist.”

If you aren’t sure you’d want to join us, add us to your reader. You won’t be disappointed.

And, if you’d like to join us to change the world, one book byte at a time, send us a note on bookbytess@gmail.com

We are very excited.
