“If you are traveling with a child or infant, please make sure you attend to yourself before you attend to the child.”
The premise in one of the most recognized safety announcements in the world is simple – if you aren’t taken care of, taking care of others is out of the question. It also points out that , while your short term reaction may be flapping at your child’s safety belt, in the long term, you are better off attending to yourself first.
It is now worthwhile to then put this in context in terms of making decisions that matter.
No decision is going to make everyone happy and no decision is going to be accepted as “right”, by everyone.
You might as well work out what is right by your principles and beliefs and make sure you are attending to your happiness, in the long term.
The premise is the same – if you are unhappy doing something or are stuck with the belief that it isn’t the right thing to do, the chances that it will actually be right or good, are slim.
