At dinner, yesterday, we had one of the restaurant managers come to us and say ‘Welcome! How are you ‘ (with a big smile) and then, right when we finished, he took a photo for us and said ‘Thank you for coming! I hope you had a great meal‘
Small courtesies..
They make such a big difference..
There was a time (when I was in my rebellious teenage years) that I used to think that it is not necessary to say ‘Thank you‘ or even ‘Please‘ to people I knew very well. I mean, why bother? And close friends often said ‘Hey, don’t keep saying thank you! Why are you being so formal‘..
I’ve said that as well..
But hearing a ‘Thank You‘ and knowing what you have done has been appreciated is a wonderful feeling..
Small courtesies DO count. There’s no ‘small‘ thing.. I am always reminded of this quote –
Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things… I am tempted to think, there are no little things
